Former Primary of Staff in President John Agyekum Kufuor's era, Kwadwo Mpiani has asked Nana Akomea's offer to join Doctor Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen to acquire the New Patriotic Get together (NPP) to Selection 2024. "The problem as I [Mpiani] see it is that, who is the presidential prospect and who is proceeding to be a running mate "And in governmental policies also, we all have our plans. In case his desire is to become a president, maybe, if you recommend him to become a running companion which will make him a vice-president, he will probably say appreciate you, I'm not interested. He was reacting to an earlier interview by Nana Akomea on the same program in which they [Akomea] proposed a Bawumia-Alan ticket, which they said was the sure way for the NPP to go into Selection 2024.
