GRA Not Ready In order to Implement E-levy Through May 1 : Sam George

 


The particular Person in Parliament (MP) for the Ningo-Prampram constituency in the Greater Accra Area states the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is not ready to roll away the implementation of the Electronic Move Levy (E-Levy) from May 1, 2022. Based on Sam Nartey George, the expert has ‘nothing’ to commence the execution of the assurance. “They are certainly not ready. Commissioner-General of the GRA, Rev Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah has said that all the technologies needed to ensure the successful implementation of the E-Levy have already been acquired. He mentioned that the only thing left to do is for the Mobile Cash Issuers (MMIs) and the Electronic Cash Issuer (EMI) which includes Telecommunication Businesses (Telcos) and Banking institutions to integrate into the system.

“.. this system is already available and the then software programme interface which is the APIs has also already been provided. We have had several events with the different stakeholders in conditions of what we call the charging organizations (The EMIs, the banks, the Telcos) that will be charging the cash and transferring the cash to the Consolidated Account through the Ghana. gov platform. Plus so, what the entities will have to do is to ensure they have taken the necessary protocols and will be able to interface with the system. inch

“The system is available, the API can be obtained, an end-to-end test has been done successfully with several of transactions which have gone through effectively with no failure. Therefore we are assured that it beholds on the getting entities to the actual integration, ” he said. Yet Sam Nartey George said the Commissioner-General of the GRA, Rev Dr Ammishaddai is ‘throwing dirt in the people’s eyes. ’

“You will eventually listen to the challenges when they commence this policy. They may not be ready for this however they won’t tell Ghanaians the truth. You will start to see the problems. They will can’t joke with people’s money. That is not right, ” he advised host, Akwasi Aboagye.
